Permanent Communication Assistant based at Shenstone School Crayford / Sidcup to start ASAP

30 hours (9.00am-3.45pm - 39 weeks per year on a permanent basis)

Are you an experienced SaLT assistant looking for a new challenge, or do you have what it takes to fulfil this amazing job opportunity? Are you able to support/encourage our amazing pupils with SEND to achieve their full potential in our specialist primary school setting? You will work under the guidance of Senior Leadership Team and Speech and Language Therapist within an agreed system of supervision, to implement agreed work programmes with individuals/groups, in or out of the classroom. This could include those requiring detailed and specialist knowledge in particular areas and will involve assisting the Speech and Language Therapist in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources.

Information about the school

Shenstone School is a primary aged special school for pupils with severe, and/ or profound and multiple learning difficulties. Shenstone School is one school based across two sites which are 5 miles apart - the Sidcup site age ranges are from nursery to Year 2 and the Crayford site is Year 2 – Year 6. The pupils at Shenstone School are amazing superstars who work very hard to achieve small and big steps of progress over time. They are supported by a dedicated staff team and we stand by our motto of “together we engage, thrive and achieve”. Shenstone School was inspected in October 2019 and the outcome is that we continue to be a ‘good’ school, where the children are happy is learning is made fun.

We have been part of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT) since 2017. TKAT is one of the largest Multi-Academy Trusts in the South of England with over 42 Primary and Secondary Academies in the TKAT Family.
