The Role

The successful candidate will provide technical support to the Design & Technology and Food Technology lessons. This includes assisting the food technology teacher with the preparation of ingredients and working spaces, monitoring and maintenance of departmental consumables and equipment, assisting teaching staff in promoting Technology in and outside the Academy, and working in accordance with health and safety regulations.

We require 20 hours per week term time only working, plus two mandatory INSET days.Core hours will be between 8.30am – 3.00pm to be negotiated directly.

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for someone who demonstrates high professional practice in all areas of work, is an excellent role model for students, efficient and highly organised, and an enthusiastic team player.

You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, experience of stock management/maintenance, knowledge of food hygiene and the ability to adapt to changing situations. 

Experience of using workshop tools such as a band saw would be an advantage, as would a food hygiene certificate, however full training for all aspects of the role will be provided. Skills in Microsoft office software, the willingness to learn CAD software to manage laser cutting jobs as the role develops and knowledge of textiles would also be useful but not essential.
