Invicta Grammar School is a highly respected school that has an exciting opportunity to build on the achievements of a very successful Performing Arts Department.

We would like to appoint a Lighting Technician to join our team in January 2020, who is able to design and rig professional and creative lighting for our events and productions to include musical, dance and drama performances, as well as Assemblies, Open Evenings and Celebration Events.

The role is for a committed and motivated professional, who would like to work in a school that provides a wealth of opportunities for both students and staff, along with wanting to be part of a family friendly, team based workforce.

This post would be appropriate for a suitably qualified and experienced Technician/Lighting Designer/Video Designer to provide support to the Drama, Dance and Music Departments.  The role would suit a well organised person with good knowledge and practical experience, ideally in the following: Avolites and Zero88 Desks, Resolume Arena, Adobe After Effects, Autocad, Cuba’s.

The successful candidate would need to have skills in the following areas as well: stage building, prop design and making, set design and making.  Holding current PASMA and ladder training certification would be advantageous but is not essential.

The successful candidate would ideally have a degree in theatre or lighting but this is not essential.  They must be a flexible, forward thinking, energetic, enthusiastic and organised person, who is able to work well under pressure while managing multiple tasks at the same time.  The Technician would also be required to carry out lighting and electrical maintenance as and when necessary.  It would be beneficial to have experience in using a Yamaha LS9 sound desk or equivalent and wireless DMX systems too.  however, training will be provided.

Salary is dependent on experience.  Hours of work to be arranged with successful candidate.
