We are looking for a special person to work in a 1:1 capacity with a child currently in key stage 1. 

The successful candidate will be able to:

  • develop a trusting, supportive and safe relationship with the child concerned
  • show unstinting care to enable the individual to reach their full potential in a safe and secure environment
  • Communicate effectively with the designated child
  • work as a team with other adults in the learning environment undertaking appropriate duties conducive to the needs of the school
  • be a team player as part of the school community
  • Work flexibly with enthusiasm and passion for their job
  • Contribute to the learning and assessment of the child concerned, enabling expected progress to be made.
  • develop effective, trusting and supportive relationships with parents and carers
  • contribute to professionals meetings to review and update current progress and needs of the child.

The successful candidate will be required to work daily, with a typical work schedule of 9am -3pm. A thirty minute daily dinner duty is required, as well as regular play time supervision. 

Fluency in Makaton will be an advantage to the support systems applied in school, but not essential. 

The contract offered equates to 27.5 hours weekly. 

The successful candidate will be assigned to a particular pupil and support this child throughout time in Primary School, enabling the child to integrate with the class socially and academically in order to reach full potential. 

Ideally we are looking for someone to start immediately, but will wait for the right candidate.

Information about the school

Hartlip Endowed Church of England Primary School is a small Voluntary Aided village school situated just off the A2 between Sittingbourne and Rainham. The school can accommodate 105 pupils on roll in four classes. Our popular primary school is set in attractive village surroundings and has a small close-knit and supportive staff team.
