We are seeking an experienced, well organised and enthusiastic Administration Officer to join our school due to a retirement. The successful candidate will work calmly amidst frequent interruptions whilst priding themselves on making an excellent first impression to school visitors. You will believe first impressions and a positive experience create long-lasting relationships with parents and that the school office plays a pivotal role to the school’s success.

You will have previous experience of working in an educational environment. You will be flexible in your approach, able to work effectively adjusting to the daily demands of a busy school office while still delivering a first-rate customer service experience. You will be able to process and manage information accurately and in a variety of formats. You must be able to work accurately under pressure whilst still maintaining high standards of performance levels.

You will have strong interpersonal skills, be a confident communicator able to convey information clearly, with proven experience in establishing positive working relationships. You will have a professional approach to your work and be able to deal calmly with matters face to face, over the telephone and via email. Your positive attitude and ‘can do’ approach will help you to effectively prioritise and deal with a demanding workload.

You should have strong Microsoft Office skills and be able to type quickly and accurately. Experience of using school software and administration systems would be an advantage

We currently have a vacancy for 30 hours per week term time only. The working hours are from 10.30am to 5pm each day. The school office is open from 7.45am to 5pm with cover shared between the Receptionist and the Administration Officer. Leave can only be taken during school holidays.

An understanding of relevant child protection policies which keep children safe in a school setting would be beneficial but is not essential as full training would be provided

The salary for this post will be paid pro rata on Kent Range 4 (FTE £17189-£18058)
