We are looking for a highly motivated and inspirational teacher to join our wonderful EYFS team in a job share position (3 days a week - Wednesday to Friday) alongside an experienced colleague, on a permanent basis beginning in January.

You should be a passionate and enthusiastic Early Years teacher who is able to nurture and inspire our children, and provide them with every opportunity to develop their full potential.

We are looking for an outstanding, experienced EYFS practitioner with the knowledge and skills to support and challenge pupils of all abilities, including those with special educational needs, disabilities and the academically more able in all areas of their early development. An ability to demonstrate strong practical knowledge of the principles of EYFS teaching, use of Development Matters and assessment against the Early Learning goals will be essential. You will need to have proven experience of teaching synthetic phonics and of supporting children’s learning and development through both teacher directed sessions and child initiated activities and an ability to make informed observations which will identify next steps. Applicants must be able to demonstrate consistent, high quality classroom practice and inspirational teaching, underpinned by excellent EYFS pedagogy.

Our children are at the heart of everything we do and we strive to offer them an environment of opportunity and discovery through a rich and broad curriculum. We are looking for someone that shares our ethos of growing and learning together, with the passion, creativity and energy to inspire and motivate our Reception children.

A particular interest in Art would be welcome, although all other subject specialisms will be equally considered.

In return we can offer you a supportive and caring team of teachers, support staff and governors, led by a strong and visionary team of school leaders.

As part of the interview process candidates may be observed teaching in their own setting/placement or at Godinton Primary School.

Information about the school

Welcome to Godinton Primary School.

When you step inside our school, you will find an exciting environment of creativity and discovery, where children’s natural curiosity is stimulated and their capacity to learn is nurtured. We are very proud of our ethos, which provides a supportive, family atmosphere with an emphasis on ensuring that our children are happy and confident individuals who love coming to school.

At Godinton Primary School, our team works hard to provide every child with a well-rounded education, enabling them to reach their full potential and succeed wherever their strengths and skills may lie. We strive for academic excellence in our pupils but believe that this should be delivered alongside an enriching and creative curriculum.

We enjoy stand-alone Academy status and have been graded as GOOD by Ofsted at our last inspection (Feb 2024).

Tucked safely away on the Godinton Park Estate, its only when you step within the school gate that you can fully appreciate the school’s privileged outside space.

Our school grounds are both extensive and beautiful, stretching around the entire building and providing a wonderful natural backdrop. Children at Godinton benefit from vast playing fields, adventure play areas, two playgrounds and a thriving wildlife garden and environmental area. A broad area of woodland, also within the grounds, provides an inspiring space for curriculum enrichment, as a stimulus for poetry or creative writing or as the location for scientific nature trails.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school, where you can see for yourself what a special place Godinton Primary School is.

Miss Jill Talbot

Headteacher
