Are you looking for a short term contract, 3 days a week, to work alongside an excellent job share?   If so we may have the right job for you!   We are looking for a Year 6 teacher to join our enthusiastic and dedicated team from January 2020, until 31st August 2020.

The contract will begin as fixed term until August 31st when the position will be reviewed. 

We are looking for someone who:

  • has a proven track record of good/outstanding teaching and accelerating learning
  • has excellent subject knowledge in reading, writing and maths
  • knows how to assess and support children of all abilities to ensure good progress
  • works well as part of a team and could support others
  • is able to work effectively with a year group colleague

Information about the school

Bishops Down Primary and Nursery School is an inclusive, non-denominational school working in partnership with the Tunbridge Wells Primary Schools Collaborative Trust. The school was built in 1967 and is situated on the western edge of Tunbridge Wells in a leafy and pleasant residential area.

The school site is beautiful, elevated and fringed with green playing fields and woods. A fragrant quiet garden, pond and wooden structures in the grounds offer opportunities for happy playtimes.

We have just under 230 pupils in the primary and nursery classes. We also have a designation for children with physical disabilities and complex medical needs who are all included in mainstream.

We run Wrap Around Care at the beginning of the day and after school for our school and nursery children and during the holidays we run a Holiday Club for all children in the community.
