Hours:  9 hours per week (hours and days to be agreed with the successful candidate).  Term time only.

Maplesden Noakes School is a highly successful 11-18 mixed secondary Academy in Maidstone that is recognised for having high academic standards for all its staff and students and for providing an inclusive, caring and supportive environment. Due to its increased popularity it is currently in the process of expanding and we therefore require a temporary finance assistant to join the finance team.  Although this is a temporary post in the first instance, it is highly likely that this post will be made permanent.

Good ICT skills are essential for this role, including the use of excel, word and outlook.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are also paramount as you will be dealing will a wide range of customers, parents, staff, and students.

The successful candidate will be a flexible, proactive and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in an environment which is not only varied but extremely busy. The role requires accuracy, reliability, integrity, honesty and an individual who is well organised and can provide a wide range of financial and related administrative duties within the Finance Team.

Further details available on the attached job description.

Maplesden Noakes School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As such, this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Services check.

Information about the school

Maplesden Noakes is an 11-18 co-educational non-selective school. The school has an excellent reputation, is popular with parents and regularly over-subscribed. Having been recently accredited as a High-Performance Learning World Class School, we believe that all of our pupils have the potential to achieve the very highest standards of performance no matter what their background or previous achievement.

Maplesden Noakes is situated on the west side of Maidstone approximately 40 miles south-east of London. The school benefits from having strong links with the local business community.

Passionate about the wellbeing of staff, the school supports good physical health and mental wellbeing. With a staff Wellbeing Policy now in place, this highlights the importance placed on a good work/life balance. Our wellbeing committee are regularly thinking of new ways to support all staff in this area with wellbeing afternoons, flexible working and financial wellbeing high on the agenda.

We believe passionately in equity and diversity. Our school is committed to embracing the lived experience of people of every race, sexuality and gender. We believe strongly in giving everyone the opportunities they deserve, no matter what social barriers may have held them back in the past.

We are committed to the professional development of all staff and offer excellent CPD, whether in house or by external providers. All teaching staff have a laptop for use at school and home.

The governing body has recently amended the school admission policy to ensure that staff who have been employed by the school for two or more years and/or are recruited to fill a vacant post for which there is a demonstrable skill shortage, receive preference in terms of admission to the school for their child(ren).

We look forward to receiving your application.
