The Abbey School is looking to appoint a full time Attendance Manager to start at the beginning of October 2019 for 37 hours per week x 40 weeks per year, on salary band KR7 (pro rata to £19,204 - £21,740). The successful candidate will be required to build up positive relationships with students and parents ensuring any absence is addressed quickly and all records are accurate.

Previous experience of working with secondary school students would be an advantage but is not essential. Candidates should possess good interpersonal skills, balancing a calm manner, high expectations and genuine care for students.

The post will involve carrying out all administrative tasks associated with the recording, management and monitoring of attendance. Through the monitoring of the data, you will support in the implementation of a range of strategies with key stakeholders, and be responsible for helping to raise attendance within the school. On a daily basis, you will be in contact with students, various members of staff, parents and external agencies.

The Abbey School is a wide ability 11-19 Academy of 1,120 students, with over 180 students in the Sixth Form. We are also an IB World School and offer the IBCP (International Baccalaureate Careers Programme). We are currently oversubscribed in year 7 and have a very positive team with high staff morale.
