Part Time Assistant Caretaker – 25 hours per week.

The job is working for the Orchard Academy Trust as a part time Assistant Caretaker.   You will be based at Barming Primary School, but will need to be prepared to work across the Trust’s schools including Allington Primary School and Belmont Pre-School, under the direction of the Site Manager, Mr Paul Moon.   

 

Our ideal caretaker would be someone who has competent DIY skills (decorating, carpentry, basic plumbing/electrical, minor repairs, furniture moving and grounds work etc.), is proactive and enjoys working as part of a team within a large school site.   Please see attached job description.

 

This role is a part time position including 38 weeks term time and 4 weeks of the school holidays.  The weekly hours are 25 per week (Monday to Friday).   We would require our new caretaker to help us to keep our school sites safe and secure, working flexibly in the event of extreme weathers.   There will be an expectation for the occasional weekend opening, in relation to lettings and call outs if the alarm was to sound.   These are paid in addition to the 25 hours per week and are not guaranteed monthly income.   Pay for this position is KR3: £9.00 per hour.
