Advert

We are a small school in the very picteresque village of Rodmersham on the outskirts of Sittingbourne and we are looking to employ a Teaching Assistant for our lovely Year 1 Class.

Year One are currently a cohort of 14 children.  There are some children with additinal needs and therefore experience of working with children with ADHD and Autism would be preferable.  As would someone who has expereince of teaching in the absence of the teacher, as our TA's take the class for PPA.

We are seeking to employ someone for 24 hours a week, and the ability to be flexible would be appreciated as we need to adpat to the needs of the children.  We would like the ideal candiate to be a positive, enthusiastic individual who wants to develop their skills in a school which believes in nurturing and achievement for all, including the staff.  We offer opportunities for continuous personal development and we have a very supportive team.

A sense of humour though is essentail!

Our school is committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children

An Enhanced DBS check will be required.

Information about the school

Rodmersham School is an oversubscribed and popular five class primary school situated in a picturesque spot on Rodmersham Village Green, two miles south of Sittingbourne. The school serves an area that includes local farms, the village with its mixture of old and new owner occupied properties. Many children are brought to the school from neighbouring areas through parental choice.

The Victorian school building was built in 1869 and over the years the school buildings have been developed. We have endeavoured to make the environment bright and pleasant for all and have a large school field, which is used for many activities and recently we have added outdoor apparatus to the field; it also houses our Forest School. We have highly supportive parents and teaching team and consider the positive well being of all to be a top priority.

At Rodmersham we can offer a host of training and teaching experiences to fully enhance your career. Our results are above National and Kent expectations and we welcome staff who are looking for an exciting challenge in our high performing school.

If you want to work in a school with amazing, inspiring children then Rodmersham School could be the school for you. We highly recommend and welcome visits.

Rodmersham School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this committment. This position is subject to a DBS check and it will be necessary to complete an application form for DBS Enchanced Disclosure.
