Library Manager (Maternity)

Salary: NJC Scale S01 Points 23-25 Pro rata to £23,174-£24,707

37 hours per week, term time plus 5 days working in the holidays

We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated individual to fill this important role. Based in our Library (Knowledge, Information and Communication Centre) you will lead the staff team in this highly innovative school library. With strong managerial skills and a belief in the important role the Centre has to play in the personal development of young people, you’ll be responsible for overseeing and developing our Information services and leading staff in providing a first class customer experience for student, staff and the wider community. A natural communicator and problem solver, you’ll bring the energy and forward thinking that can drive the Library (KIC Centre) forward.

The successful candidate will have unlimited optimism, good communication skills, and a tenacity to succeed.  Good IT and organisational skills are an advantage.  Previous experience is an advantage but not essential as training will be available if required.

Information about the school

Homewood School and Sixth Form Centre is a mixed 11 – 18 wide ability school with Academy status with 2000 students including 350 in the Sixth Form. We are part of Tenterden Schools’ Trust working in collaboration with local primary schools and nurseries serving the Wealden town of Tenterden and the surrounding villages. The school is situated on the edge of Tenterden and enjoys a large semi-rural site overlooking open countryside. Home Farm Nursery is based in the grounds of Homewood School.

Homewood has excellent facilities for all its students and our specialisms in Performing Arts, Applied Learning and the Rural Dimension underpin our approaches to learning which are designed to raise achievement across the whole student body. We aim to maintain and develop the cultural aspirations of the school community in line with our priorities of “belonging” and “respect” and offer a broad range of curriculum opportunities in all subject areas.
