Advert

Lydd Primary School has a vacancy for a maternity cover full-time Reception class teacher commencing October 2019. If the right candidate were available before October we would consider an earlier start subject to references and pre-employment checks being completed.

Applications are invited from NQTs or experienced teachers who are energetic, enthusiastic, innovative practitioners keen to develop their teaching and inspire our children.

You would be part of our lively and exciting Ducklings and Bluebells EYFS team who last year were awarded an outstanding judgement by Ofsted. There would also be a one term period of transition (term 2) for you to work alongside the existing reception class teacher to ensure the smoothest possible handover for our pupils. Our EYFS team also includes an onsite nursery provision, as well as the Reception unit which has the use of 2 classrooms and includes 2 highly experienced full time teaching assistants.

Visits to our school are warmly welcomed where you can meet our team.

As a school we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our children.  Pre-employment and recruitment check willb e carried out.

Information about the school

We are an average sized primary school with a growing roll of hard working, polite and friendly children. The school has a team of friendly and skilful teachers who deliver a broad and interesting curriculum. At our last inspection we were judged to be a good school with an outstanding early year’s provision. Our teachers work hard, but as OFSTED noted we are also aware of the importance of a good work-life balance and morale is high amongst staff.

The school is well resourced, with large buildings, outdoor space and excellent local facilities for exploring learning outside the classroom.

Although Lydd is Kents most southerly village, it is well connected by road to many main towns. It is an easy commute from Ashford (where many of the staff live), Hastings, Dover, Folkestone and Hythe. Do come and meet our friendly staff and wonderful children, you are sure of a warm welcome.
