Specialist teaching assistant required 1:1 support
25 hours a week
Two positions available one in Year 2 and one in Year 6. Please make clear in your applications your preferences or willingness to apply for both positions.
Job 1 25 hrs - Year 6 - Working with a pupil with mild physical disability combined with cognition and processing needs.
Job 2 25hrs - Year 2 - Supporting a child with ASD in a 1:1 role to enable them to accesses and engage fully in the curriculum.
The following would be desirable but not essential:-
Ability to build warm and professional relationships and work as a team player
Knowledge of strategies to support social and emotional development
Experience of working with children in KS1/KS2
Willingness to engage in a wide range of physical and sensory activities
Experience of supporting children who require encouragement and confidence building
Able to provide clear expectations and boundaries for behaviour
Ability to differentiate the curriculum to support learning
Experience of record keeping and gather evidence for an EHCP
Ability to assist teacher with observation and monitoring of the child, maintaining accurate records, in order to ensure documentation of all interventions with the child
