Culverstone Green Primary School is seeking to appoint a part time Caretaker to join our friendly, professional team of staff.
We wish to appoint a self-motivated candidate who is versatile, well organised, enthusiastic, reliable with excellent communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to show they have the necessary skills and aptitude, and that they can work well under their own initiative.
The Caretaker will work with/report to the School Business Manager and will be responsible for the general maintenance, upkeep and improvement of the school premises including the grounds during the school day and refurbishment / maintenance jobs during the holidays. The role involves all aspects of caretaking and facilities management, including site security and routine H&S checks such as water temperature and fire alarm testing. The role would involve some manual labour including lifting furniture and equipment to statutory limits.
The applicant would need to be flexible as there will sometimes be the need for support out of hours or additional time to lock and unlock for lettings. This may involve some evenings / weekends for which additional payment will be made.
The position will be for 25 hours per week, all year round with 24 days paid leave plus bank holidays, on a permanent contract. Hours will be worked over a split shift of 7am to 9am followed by 3pm to 6pm. The start date will be 29 August which is a staff training day.
