Are you looking for an exciting career opportunity in a friendly and supportive school environment?

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiatic Teaching Assistant to our hard working support team on a fixed term contract for two years. You will be providing support to groups of children in the classroom as well as 1:1 support for an individual child. An awareness of how to support pupils with emotional needs and an attachment disorder through nurture and high expectations of behaviour would be beneficial.

Successful candidates will need to have good personal organisation skills as well as the ability to use your own initiative and to work efficiently as part of a team to support our kind, happy and hard-working children. Candidates should have a good level of English and Maths skills in order to provide effective support across a range of subjects. In addition to this, we are looking for someone with a positive outlook and a willingness to work responsively to pupil needs and their requirements. Candidates should have a good understanding of how to support and develop both the academic and social and emotional well-being of our pupils and a willingness to undertake training if needed. An understanding of school safeguarding and SEND policies along with the need for confidentiality would also be beneficial.

Ideally we are looking for a candidate with a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, however, we will also consider candidates with recent experience of working with children in a voluntary or paid capacity.  

This post is for a September 2019 start and is fixed term until the 31 August 2021. The hours of work are 26.25 per week, term time only working between 8:45am to 3pm with 1 hour for lunch (unpaid).
