Science Teacher SEMH

We are looking for a Science teacher to work in a fun and supportive SEMH therapeutic school with a relaxed but efficient ethos.

Start date negotiable.

Salary negotiable.

Qualified status preferred but unqualified candidates who have substantial and relevant experience and knowledge will be considered.

Required:

  • Be able to deliver Science to a high standard in a manner that is engaging and fun
  • Be able to produce student levels via assessments and annotated work to support assessments and use these to plan personalised interventions. Track progress.
  • Be able to write high quality schemes of work and lesson plans
  • Prepare high quality lessons that accommodate for different kinds of SEN (SEMH) by design
  • Prepare and delegate work and schemes of work for our outreach staff in a timely manner as directed by the management
  • Be able to differentiate for different student ability
  • Be able to deliver from Entry level to GCSE/ Level 2
  • Have personal qualities of resilience, compassion, a sense of humour and be fully reliable
  • Have a strong commitment to upholding high standards of equality and diversity in the workplace
  • Be able to effectively plan effective individualised interventions for students to help them have sustained and rapid progress
  • Have a decent understanding of SEN in education
  • Be able to perform all duties associated with a teaching role

Desirable:

  • Have a second subject that can potentially be delivered
  • Have any additional skills, hobbies or talents that might be useful to the school
  • Knowledge of therapeutic approaches in schools

Will also need to be able to take on any reasonable additional duties as allocated by the management.
