Laddingford is a small, nurturing, village school serving a vibrant community. We have a hard working and highly motivated staff team who regularly go the extra mile to achieve the best possible outcomes for every one of our 77 children. We have a relatively high proportion of children with SEN and we are looking for a qualified SENCo to join the team and help us keep on top of things while our SENCo is on Maternity leave.

We acheived a 'Good' Ofsted in July 2017 and continue to build on this foundation, striving to constantly improve. We are a small and incredibly supportive team where everyone is encouraged to be innovative and try new things. The positivity of the staff team and the culture of the school as a whole is often remarked upon by visitors. This extends to our relationships with parents and members of the wider village community who are highly supportive and actively involved in school life.

Nurture based practice, including restorative justice approaches to behaviour management, underpin all that we do. I would encourage you to visit the school prior to your application, as well as looking at our facebook page @LaddingfordCEP and watching the following short films to get a feel for who we are;

Whilst we will hugely miss our member of staff while they are off on maternity leave we are excited at this opportunity to bring new expertise and ideas into the mix for the 2019-20 academic year - could it be you we are looking for?!

There is a possibility for the right candidate (SENCo qualified) that this job could be combined with the 0.4 EYFS/KS1 teaching position also being advertised.

Visits can be arranged by telephoning Jodie Moat in the school office on 01622 871270 to. I look forward to welcoming you to the school.

Information about the school

Laddingford is a small rural Primary School in easy reach of Barming, Maidstone, Marden, Paddock Wood and Tonbridge.

Our school vision of 'welcoming everyone, building foundations, leaving no-one behind' provides the starting point for every decision we make and thing we do here at Laddingford.

Laddingford St Mary’s is a happy and vibrant school where children and staff are excited about learning. Our aim is for children to leave Laddingford not only with knowledge but also with the skills and disposition needed to be a successful lifelong learner; throughout all lessons we focus on skills such as inquisitiveness, independence and a positive mind-set. As a result, our children are excited about their learning, hardworking, focused and confident.

We strive unashamedly for academic excellence for all children in our care, whilst also nurturing and celebrating the wide range of other talents that make them special and unique. We have a fantastic staff team, who are dedicated to their roles and passionate not only about our children’s education but also their holistic development. Our community's happiness and well-being are our number one priority. Our calm and nurturing atmosphere is underpinned by our core Christian values, as a Church of England Primary School we strive to provide children with a sound moral compass which will support them throughout their education and beyond.

We are a small school, with a brand new bespoke Early Years provision. At full capacity we can education just over 100 children. This means that we truly are one family, we go on whole school trips together and at playtime and lunchtime children socialise happily together across year groups. We currently have 74 children on roll and the class structure is flexible depending on the size of each year group.

Laddingford St Mary’s is a very special place, our school has a warmth and positive buzz that is best experienced firsthand. If you are interested in what we have to offer and think this could be the right school for you, we look forward to hearing from you.

As a school, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and all staff are subject to DBS checks.
