Growing Towrads The Future

This is an exciting time to join Grove Park Academies as we embark on this new venture; are you that person?

About the trust

Grove Park Academies is a multi-academy trust consisting of one mainstream primary school and Aspire School (Special), both situated in Sittingbourne in very close proximity to each other. The trust was established in 2012, which consisted of Grove Park Primary School and was granted permission to open a free special school in 2016.

About the school

This is an amazing opportunity for a new Headteacher joining our trust with the chance to develop our brand new special school. Aspire School is currently under construction and is due to open in September 2020. It will provide a learning environment to meet the needs of 168 children with an Autism or Speech Language Communication Needs diagnosis as part of their EHCP. A great deal of time and energy has gone into the design of this purpose built building with the most up-to-date facilities; it now requires the inspiration and vision of our new Headteacher to create the right community for our children.

About the role

As Headteacher, you will provide inspirational and motivational leadership as the school starts to grow. You will work with your team, the Executive Headteacher and trustees to meet the needs of these children. Whilst Aspire is part of a trust, with an ethos that we feel needs to transcend across the schools, there will be ample opportunity to instil a vision that is appropriate for this school. We need to appoint a proven leader with passion, drive and vision to take this school forward on its journey. Ideally, a previous Headteacher or experienced Deputy Headteacher who has experience working in the special school sector.

The successful candidate will:

Experienced in working with children with relevant SEND and their families

  • be innovative and creative able to find solutions to challenges facing schools today
  • Flexible and positive about change
  • Have energy, enthusiasm, positivity and resilience to lead and inspire
  • Capable of budgetary oversight of the school’s finances devolved by the trust

 We can offer:

  •  A highly supportive and professional team approach
  • An opportunity to grow your own team
  • A high level of autonomy to help create the vision within this new school

A supportive trustee board who are committed to staff professional development.

The Trust is committed to the safeguarding of all its pupils and employment is subject to all appropraite safegaurding checks.
