We are looking for a person who:

  • can be confidential
  • has experience with children aged 4 to 7
  • can relate well to lunchtime situations
  • can use their initiative and own judgement, but knows when it is appropriate to ask for advice
  • is friendly, fun-loving, enthusiastic and kind
  • has good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • can share their own interests with children, eg gardening, sport, etc
  • is prepared to give and take
  • is able to work as part of a team
  • has high expectations and standards, eg behaviour, tidying by children
  • uses common sense
  • is sensitive to children (others) and their needs; can be intuitive - can 'read' a person or situation
  • has a consistent approach
  • is committed and conscientious
  • is prepared to continue learning and training
  • is open and receptive to new ideas
  • is free in the middle of the day for one hour and a bit!

Westmeads Community Infant School is situated in the heart of Whitstable. We have up to 180 pupils in six classes. We have a dynamic team, supportive parents and governors and strong community links.
