Turner Schools has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Estates. The Head of Estates will provide strategic leadership of the function and management of health and safety for the organisation. The position will oversee a strong facilities team in the management and future planning of all maintenance and security of all Turner Schools premises, buildings and grounds.

The successful candidate will:-

  • Have experience of facilities and operational functions
  • Lead on the maintenance of all of the Turner Schools sites, working with members of the Trust Central Team such as the Finance Director to produce detailed reports for planned necessary works
  • Provide long term comprehensive planning for the sites to maximise the potential of the organisations physical resources
  • Have experience in managing a health and safety culture, modelling good practice and providing training to the team
  • Ensure that all hazards are identified and rectified
  • Ensure that policies are reviewed in consultation with the Trust to ensure that they are robust and compliant
  • Ensure that procedures are followed
  • Have experience in managing and developing emergency procedures
  • Contribute towards the Trust's vision and ethos
  • Enjoy completing their work in a professional and positive manner, relish solving problems and take pride in helping people
  • Have a determination to improve standards and outcomes in non-selective education on the south-east Kent coast
  • Have an interest in playing a part, through education, in the re-generation of Folkestone
  • Have high ethical standards
  • Have strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate honesty and integrity
  • Be highly motivated and have a flexible approach towards work and working hours
  • Be an ambassador for Turner Schools in dealing with external persons, and to be an admired and respected member of the team by internal faculty and pupils/students
