30 hours per week, 8:45 - 3:15pm, term time only, including 5 INSET days

To start September 2019.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team from September, working specifically with a child in Key Stage 1 with Special Educational Needs.

We are a small school who have a very friendly, committed body of staff, who work well together to provide the best for our pupils. We can offer the successful candidate the opportunity to spend every day with keen, friendly pupils and dedicated staff. It is a position in which you could really make a difference to this endearing pupil and their classmates. The special person we seek will be driven by a genuine desire to break down barriers for children who have Special Educational needs and to ensure that they are not educationally disadvantaged or socially isolated as a result of their SEN needs.

The candidate we seek has/is:

  • Experienced in supporting the inclusion, learning and development of children with Special Educational Needs - experience of working with a child who has Autism would be a particular advantage.
  • Determined to provide the very best outcomes for the children they work with
  • Able to maintain positive behaviour and strong relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Has effective communication skills
  • Knows how to support children’s reading, writing and maths knowledge and skills effectively
  • Able to work closely with class teachers to promote learning and achievement
  • Supervise children at more unstructured times of the school day, engaging them in games and social skills activities
  • Demonstrate a willingness to take on board advice in order to develop further
