Do you believe that all students deserve access to a knowledge-rich curriculum? Are you ready to teach in a school where a rigorous behaviour policy and centralised SLT-led detentions ensure you can focus on teaching students and sharing your passion?

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teacher of P.E to join our dynamic and high performing P.E department.

P.E and Sport are highly supported across the school and very popular amongst students with a large uptake at KS4 and KS5. The successful candidate should be able to deliver excellence in the classroom across key stages 3-5. Experience in teaching Level 2 BTEC First Award in Sport and/or Cambridge Technical in Sport and Physical Activity would be favourable.

The department delivers a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and regularly competes in a range of fixtures across the district. The successful candidate would be expected to drive and contribute towards these regularly.

The school boasts a wide range of facilities including a 3G, sports hall, gymnasium, fitness suite, dance studios, outdoor courts and substantial playing fields.

This post would be suitable for an experienced teacher or an NQT. NQTs would be supported and mentored through our successful NQT programme, led by a member of the P.E department. The successful candidate would be joining a high performing, well qualified and supportive department with a strong team ethos.

Information about the school

The Towers School and Sixth Form Centre is an inclusive, academic school that provides equal opportunities for all. We strongly believe in traditional values that ensure a happy, safe and challenging educational environment for every student in our care.

We want students to leave Towers as confident young people who will aspire to great things. We want our students to be good people, with their own moral purpose, treating others with respect and understanding. We want them to care; to be eloquent and passionate; to be critical thinkers making reasoned choices; to have a vision of the world which extends beyond the boundaries of their town and their country; who are interested in what is going on in the world and care enough to want to make a difference.

We believe in the potential of our students and in our ability to help them reach it. We have high expectations of all our students and, as such, we have high expectations of ourselves. We expect students to meet our code of conduct; we uphold a strong sense of discipline because we care. We want every student to learn in the most focused, calm and consistent of surroundings. We offer a curriculum that stretches and challenges, where knowledge and revision is at the heart. We strive for consistency and fairness in all our dealings, being open about our expectations with our whole community.

We are proud of our strong welfare system which cares for and supports our children and their families. This stands at the heart of our school, ensuring the focus is on academic success. Through our curriculum and enrichment programme, we aim to inspire our students to develop themselves as individuals with their own skills, talents, character and passion.

We are proud to be Towers School and we stand together. We are #ProudtobeTowers

Towers School is committed to Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all staff and volunteers to share and demonstrate this commitment.
