We are seeking to appoint a confident, motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Administration Assistant to work in our busy and friendly school office.

Working as an administration assistant you will be the welcoming face of St Nicholas CE Primary Academy, and as such will help create that all important first impression.

Your role will include general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying and sending and delivering messages. You will also need excellent communication skills to enable you to regularly answer the telephone in a polite and efficient manner, and liaise with visitors and parents face to face in order to answer school related enquiries.

You will need:

  • A good level of English and maths (grade 4-9 (A*-C) GCSE) and attention to detail to ensure your work is accurate.
  • The ability to work with initiative and to tight deadlines
  • To show resilience under pressure
  • Great organisational skills, and be able to work tidily in a shared office
  • To recognise the need for confidentiality
  • To be committed to working as part of a team to support the vision and aims of the Academy

At the end of your apprenticeship you will achieve a nationally recognised qualification in Business Administration as well as valuable work experience. To enable you to achieve this you will have 7 hours per week study time and 6 days of training in college.

The post is for 37 hours per week (including study time) for 40 weeks of the year; term time plus inset days and the first full week of the school summer holidays. You will also receive 4 weeks paid holiday.

St Nicholas CE Primary Academy, as part of Aquila, The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust, is situated in the heart of New Romney, set in beautiful surroundings, and is well-resourced to meet the needs of its 15 classes and 400+ children, in this over-subscribed and well-maintained school judged Good with Outstanding features by OFSTED (May 2019).
