We are seeking to appoint a friendly, flexible, professional person preferably with some medical knowledge to work as Welfare Assistant across both Kingsnorth & Brenzett Primary schools, however the main duties would allow you to be based at Kingsnorth.   

The working hours will be 30 per week, with times to be agreed, Monday – Friday, term time only.

You will hold the vital role across both schools. At Kingsnorth your principal duties will be administering first aid and medication in accordance with school policy.  Maintaining records and creating documents to support the child’s welfare.

You will need to be able to work well under pressure and use your own initiative, be well organised and have the ability to prioritise your own workload and work to deadlines.  You will be required to work both independently and as part of a team, while maintaining a positive, caring and cheerful attitude is essential.

You will also be in charge of a team of eight midday supervisors.

Experience of Microsoft Word/Excel and SIMS (Schools Management Information System) would be an advantage but not essential.  You will be required to undertake Safeguarding and First Aid training.

Your own car and clean driving licence is required.

Working to ensure confidentiality at all times is a must in this role. 

Must be able to deal with a variety of people in a sensitive and diplomatic manner.

Starting salary: £18,059 FTE, £12,074 pro rata.

We are also one of 34 English Hub school’s across the country. We are an active and leading school within Aquila (The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust - www.diocant-aquila.org). We work in strong partnership with other schools across Ashford, South Kent and beyond, providing support and learning opportunities for our staff.

We are a flag ship school for the Inclusion Quality Mark and are extending this by working with Nurture UK to further develop our provision as we understand that all behaviour is communication. We are also very proud of our Outdoor Learning/Forest school provision which we are incorporating with our OPaL (Outdoor Learning and Play) scheme.

We are situated next to the church in the heart of Kingsnorth village, south of Ashford. We are a large 2 form entry school with 420 children on roll. We have strong links with the local Church and Community. Our supportive Governing Body and active PFA play key roles in school life.
