Part Time Teacher of Design Technology Required for September 2019

We are looking to appoint a part time Teacher of Design Technology.  The appointed candidate will join the D.T. Department in our highly successful, selective school in September 2019. The FTE will be 0.50; there may be some flexibility in this.

Applicants should have the ability to teach Design Technology up to A Level. The post is suitable for a newly qualified or experienced teacher.

Design Technology at Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School

The Design Technology department sits within a well-resourced DT faculty area (also including Art Textiles and Food Technology). We have two workshops that are very well equipped, allowing the subject to deliver exciting projects and building challenging prototypes across KS3, KS4 and KS5. Design Technology is a very well organised and structured department, delivering traditional resistant materials projects but also teaching 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC cutting alongside Coreldraw and Tinkercad. The subject is well supported at GCSE and A Level ( both AQA exam board) with consistently excellent results year on year.

Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School is a highly respected selective Voluntary Controlled Girls’ Grammar School that places students’ academic success on a par with their wellbeing, creating a unique learning community where every individual matters. Students attending the school are aged between 11-18 years and the school has a student roll of about 1,300 students (with approx. 400 pupils in our mixed Sixth Form).
