We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational teacher (from either primary or secondary background) to play a key part in the delivery in one or two of the following subjects: science /maths /PE/ Art. You will be skilled at engagaing and motivating pupils who find learning a challenge in this all age special school for pupils with behaviour and learning difficulties including SEMH, ASD. You will play a key role in the school as we strive to further develop new curriculum pathways and effective provision to engage all pupils.  The role involves  being a class tutor as well as basic skills teaching. 

The successful candidate will:

  • be an outstanding classroom teacher who can inspire and excite students about their learning.
  • Be confident with the use of effcetive provision planning for pupils with a range of SEN
  • Possess relevant teaching experience, especially with SEND
  • Have a positive and creative outlook to work in such a challenging environment.

The post is enhanced by a Special Educational Needs Allowance and London Fringe Allowance

Information about the school

Rowhill School is a day special school designated for pupils with Social Emotional and Mental Health difficulties. The school currently has approximately 164 pupils on roll, between the ages of 5 and 16. Pupils have a wide range of needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, as well as behavioural, social and mental health needs. We also provide an Alternative Curriculum Provision for KS4 pupils, providing tutoring, both on and off site.

The Dartford STLS teaching service also forms part of the schools structure.
