We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, engaged and committed Lead Practitioner in Maths and English, to drive improvement for Maths and English throughout the curriculum, in our outstanding Special School. It is a fixed term contract from September 2019 to August 2020, subject to review.

 

The successful candidate will be an exceptional qualified and experienced teacher with excellent interpersonal skills and a proven record of success, along with a passion for working with children with SEND, and should:

  • Be able to use their own initiative and have the ability to inspire colleagues to achieve a high standard of teaching and learning in Maths and English
  • Possess the ability to improve pupil progess in Maths and English to the highest standard, sharing best practice with colleagues

 

Applications are welcome from highly motivated and dedicated teachers who may already be working in a Special School and from those currently working in a mainstream Primary or Secondary School who are looking to make the move into a Special School.

 

A background in SEN and in particular PMLD, SLD or ASD is desirable but not essential to applying for this post.

Ifield is a Foundation District Special School for pupils with profound, severe and complex learning needs and communication and interaction difficulties from age four to nineteen. Ifield School has a dynamic and innovative staff who work closely with pupils to create an ethos of care, respect and success.
