Deputy Headteacher: Pastoral Care
This is an exciting time to join The Charles Dickens School as we move into our second phase of school improvement following the appointment of our new Headteacher who starts in June. The Charles Dickens School joined Barton Court Academy Trust (BCAT) on 1 March 2017, working in partnership with Barton Court Grammar School, an outstanding rated co-educational grammar school in Canterbury. This venture has seen The Charles Dickens students and staff benefit from outstanding leadership and the sharing of best practice. The Trust is committed to excellence in professional development and the outgoing post-holder has been successful in gaining a Headship for the next academic year.
The Charles Dickens School is an over-subscribed non-selective, co-educational school which benefits from the state of the art new buildings and is situated in a beautiful part of the South East coast. The school enjoys a good reputation locally, with dedicated colleagues and enthusiastic students. Staff hold high expectations for all students and work tirelessly to continue to raise attainment and achievement.
Required for September 2019, the Governors wish to appoint a highly qualified Deputy Headteacher, who is experienced in senior leadership, and is ambitious for Headship. We are looking for a well organised, creative, enthusiastic and committed individual to lead and manage Pastoral Care, Behaviour and Inclusion within a Key Stage. Our aim is to achieve excellence in all our work with our students.
