Teacher of A Level Economics/Business/Politics for September 2019- Part Time- Three days a week
Wye School is part of United Learning, a group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England. Schools within United Learning work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. By collecting expertise and combining resources, we help to make the tough job of teaching a little easier. With a shared curriculum and lesson plans from around the group available to all, our teachers have strong foundations to lead the engaging, rounded education our children deserve. We reward our staff: with wide career opportunities – between Primary and Secondary, Academy and Independent – better pay, benefits, and ultimately the satisfaction of helping every child at each of our schools to succeed and reach their full potential.
Wye School opened in September 2013 with a single intake of Year 7 students. This September we will welcome our first Year 13 students and will have reached the end of our growth story. This is a mixed comprehensive (all ability) school. In December 2018, Ofsted praised our, ‘very vibrant and strong leadership … clear and aspirational vision,’ and, ‘high level of ambition for the students and the school.’ We are a relatively small and very friendly school with new buildings, supportive parents and well behaved and hardworking students. We are over-subscribed in Years 7-11 and rapidly growing our new 6th Form.
We are now looking to add to our close-knit team of dedicated and dynamic teaching staff and grow the A Level subjects we offer. We want to appoint a part time Teacher of Economics, Business and Politics who is capable of teaching all three subjects to A Level standard. We realise that this is quite a specific skills set and so would happily talk to applicants interested in teaching two or one of these subjects on a reduced part time basis.
We welcome applications from candidates with varying degrees of experience, including NQTs, but A Level teaching experience, in a school or FE setting, is a distinct advantage.
Applications will be considered on receipt. Suitable candidates will be interviewed on receipt of application and Wye School reserves the right to withdraw the position if an early appointment is made.

Wye School opened in September 2013 with a single intake of Year 7 students. We achieved our first excellent GCSE results in August 2018, followed by a ‘Good’ Ofsted in Dec 2018. We are over-subscribed, have well behaved students, supportive parents and a new building that includes a large Sports Hall, outside Multi-Use Games Area and school field. We are a mixed comprehensive (all ability) school. We are only interested in appointing teachers who aim to challenge and fully support outstanding progress for every student.
