Learning Support Assistant required for a pupil in key stage 1 (1:1 position).

Hours of work: 27.5 hours per week (9am to 3pm with half an hour lunch break)

We are looking for an enthusiastic learning support assistant to join our team in key stage 1. The role involves working 1:1 with a child with additional needs (needs are medical, including toileting).

Salary: Kent Range 3 (Full time equivalent £15,784. Pro rata'd salary £9,674.32).

 

We are seeking a candidates who will:

  • Work as an effective team player;
  • Be self-motivated;
  • Will effectively promote the vision, aims and positive ethos of the school;
  • Be innovative and enthusiastic;
  • Have high expectations of children’s achievement and a commitment to inspiring learners;
  • Support children over playtimes and for part of the lunchtime period by running a social lunch club.

Do you have these attributes?

  • NVQ level 2 or 3 in Child Care and Education/Supporting Teaching and Learning, or a commitment to working towards this;
  • Experience in phonics and interventions for SEN children;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A good standard of maths, English and ICT skills;
  • The ability to be flexible and adaptable;
  • Organised and able to work independently, recording children's progress where required;
  • Will initiate and participate in play activities or interventions during lunchtimes, encouraging children to engage.
