Head of Design Technology

We are looking to appoint our next inspirational and dynamic Head of Design Technology to lead us in achieving exceptional things with our students and to develop a creative and innovative design technology curriculum.

You will have a proven record of raising attainment and accelerating progress. Your previous experience as a leader is less important to us than your clear vision on what can be achieved for our students and your team of committed and dedicated staff as well as your ability to motivate and inspire. Our new colleague will have an unstinting belief that every young person, whatever their starting point can make and sustain exceptional progress and that our purpose is to change lives.

You will have access to on-going development opportunities and the support of a forward thinking, successful multi-academy trust.

It is a fantastic time to be joining the team. You would join a hardworking and passionate team of staff, in an academy characterised by high aspirations, academic excellence and exemplary behaviour, in a school that has firm discipline and crystal clear rules (that are enforced) alongside a strong climate of care, encouragement and reward. Our parents are supportive and ambitious for their children, and our reputation in the locale has grown. The academy is an increasingly popular school in the rapidly growing Ebbsfleet Garden City community.

We want our pupils to leave school as well-rounded, confident young people, with an awareness of the wider world, and a desire and ambition to play an active part in it, all of which is encapsulated in The Ebbsfleet Academy’s motto – Aspire, Excel!

What are we looking for?

  • An inspiring and motivational teacher who can enthuse and engage students to achieve their full potential
  • A committed individual who wishes to add to the success of the History team by implementing their own ideas and strategies and embrace the very best practice in teaching

We also look for:

  • Only three things in our teachers - that you love children; that you are conscientious, committed and with a clear moral purpose; and that you are passionate and highly knowledgeable about your subject

In return, WHAT we offer you?

  • We practice work life balance
  • Our teachers use their time to plan exciting lessons and to discuss the best way to teach a topic
  • We don't have unnecessary meetings or unnecessary paperwork
  • We expect teachers to enjoy and to relish every minute of their well-earned holiday.
  • A range of excellent benefits, CPD, access to professional coaching and mentoring, an employee assistance programme, well-being portal, childcare vouchers and reduced gym membership.

To arrange a school visit, telephone the HR Department on 01580 712754 x 331/332/333
