Hours:                         37 per week (Mon - Thur -8am-4pm, Fri 8am - 3:30pm)

Future Schools Trust are seeking a Finance Assistant (Purchase Ledger) to join the Finance Team who will be based at the Central Services Hub but may also be required to work across all Trust sites.

This role will have the responsibility of maintaining the purchase ledger ensuring the processing of payments in accordance with school procedures and in compliance with Financial Regulations. Assisting in the reconciliation of the purchase ledger control account to ensure invoices are correctly authorised and suppliers are paid on time. The role will also involve a cross over with the sales ledger function during pressure points making this an exciting and varied opportunity for someone wishing to experience a range of different finance functions.

Person Specification:

  • AAT/CAT or equivalent qualification or working towards; or relevant work experience.
  • Minimum 5 GCSE’s A-C including Mathematics and English (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a financial environment
  • Experience working within the Education sector desirable
  • Strong Excel and IT skills
  • Experience working in high transactional environment
  • Experience of using PS Financial and Tucasi accounting packages desirable
  • Proven experience of sales and purchase ledger processing and maintenance
  • Experience of working on a number of different and separate tasks at once and the ability to deal with changing priorities
  • Experience maintaining manual and electronic filing systems desirable
  • A good team player
  • A “can do” attitude
  • Awareness of team and department performance and how individual performance contributes to this
  • Strong technical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to manage numerous deadlines and prioritise workload in order to achieve these deadlines
