Specialist Higher Level Teaching Assistant or equivalent experience

Orchards Academy will be opening a specialist resource provision for ASD from September 2019. We would like to appoint a member of staff who is committed to the school's vision of 'providing children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder a local community school, where they can have the specialist support they need with the help and support of their local community.'

The successful candidate will be have a clear understanding of the needs of Autistic children. A qualification at Level 2 or above in supporting children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder would be advantageous however, we would also welcome applications from candidates who have relevant experience of working with Autistic children.

The applicant would need to have good organisational and time management skills and have the ability to be flexible to meet the presenting needs of the children on a daily basis.

The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post, in accordance with the Immigration Act 2016

Hours: 8.10am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday, term time only plus inset days (32.5 hours per week)

Salary: Kent Range 6 (£19,864 FTE). Pro rata salary for Term time only role approx £14,723pa.

Start Date: September 2019
