 In September 2018 it was announced by the Minister of State for School Standards that Kingsnorth CEP had been chosen as one of 32 English Hubs nationally.

This post will be a fixed term contract for a maximum of two years as all staff and pupils at Kingsnorth CEP begin our exciting journey together in promoting a love of reading. 

There will be many exciting opportunities for the successful applicant.

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding, highly motivated, dynamic and forward thinking Cover Supervisor who will supervise whole classes undertaking pre-prepared activities provided by a teacher.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • To undertake whole class supervision for PPA or in the absence of the class teacher, delivering work previously prepared by the teacher
  • To use AfL strategies within the lessons to evaluate learning.
  • To develop curricular knowledge as required by the school
  • To apply the school’s Behaviour Policy
  • To undertake observations of the pupils and contribute to pupil records
  • To attend INSET days if required.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, creative, energetic and able to work collaboratively across our whole school team, also able to work on their own initiative and prioritise well, while thinking on their feet.

If you have experience with working with children and are confident in managing and maintaining a focused learning environment, you will excel in working as part of our team. This job allows for a large amount of autonomy in the classroom and would a suit a person looking for an exciting and rewarding job, possibly before embarking further in a career in teaching.

Kingsnorth CE Primary School is an exciting and vibrant place to learn and develop. We were judged as outstanding in our SIAMS. In our most recent OFSTED as a ‘Good School’.

We are also one of 34 English Hub school’s across the country. We are an active and leading school within Aquila (The Diocese of Canterbury Academies Trust - www.diocant-aquila.org.) We work in strong partnership with other schools across Ashford, South Kent and beyond, providing support and learning opportunities for our staff.

We have also recently been awarded the role of Associate Research School in Kent, supporting schools in the area.

We are situated next to the church in the heart of Kingsnorth village, south of Ashford. We are a large 2 form entry school with 420 children on roll. We have strong links with the local Church and Community. Our supportive Governing Body and active PFA play key roles in school life.
