Advert

We are looking to recruit a dedicated and highly organised Administration Manager to join our friendly team at Penshurst CE Primary School.

The Administration Manager will oversee all aspects of school administration and will supervise the work of the Administration Assistant. This will be an interesting and diverse role within a busy school environment - every day is different! The position will cover (but is not limited to) aspects such as:

  • management of pupil information in SIMS, including statutory returns
  • all administration relating to pupil admissions and leavers
  • overseeing pupil attendance including producing regular reports
  • management of the school's IT systems in coordination with the IT support service
  • overseeing school/parent communication
  • HR and DBS administration
  • premises management including coordination of maintenance and repairs and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • maintaining and updating the register of school policies
  • acting as the school's Data Lead to design and implement procedures relating to GDPR compliance

The successful candidate will have significant experience within a school office environment and will already be familiar with many aspects of the role. We are looking for someone who is cool, calm and efficient, and who understands the importance of professionalism and confidentiality. Self-motivation and flexibility are essential qualities, as is a high standard of written English and a good grasp of IT.

In return, we can offer a very friendly school community with a welcoming and supportive leadership and staff team. The school is located in a beautiful, historic village with extensive grounds and on-site staff parking.

The hours of work will be four days per week (term time only plus INSETs) from 8.30am until 3.30/4.30pm - exact days and hours to be discussed. Candidates may wish to note that we are currently also recruiting for a Bursar to manage the school's finances for one day per week; there is a potential opportunity to combine these two positions into one full time role, and candidates should indicate on their application form if they would be interested in doing this.

We would ideally like the successful candidate to start work at the beginning of Term 5, but there may be some flexibility on the start date.

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed; please contact Catherine Taylor in the school office to make an appointment.

Information about the school

We are a small village church school, at the heart of our community, set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We have 80 pupils taught in four classes: Foundation, Year 1 and Year 2, Year 3 and Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6.

The school plays a very active role in the local and wider community and provides many opportunities for children to develop their talents and interests, whether this be in the sporting competitions we take part in or in our wide range of extra-curricular clubs.

Our staff team is small, friendly and mutually supportive, which we believe is a real strength of our school. Our Christian values are important to us and are at the heart of all we strive to achieve. We encourage all members of the school community to walk in the shoes of others; - demonstrating our understanding of the needs of others as well as promoting kindness at every opportunity.
