West Heath School is looking for creative, approachable, reliable, enthusiastic and forward thinking people to join its outstanding care team.

As a member of the residential team you will provide a high quality needs led service to children and young people at the School by adopting a child centred approaches that fosters self-awareness, personal growth and gives each child the strongest voice with regards to decision making and lifestyle choices.

 

Creative – you see alternative ways to get things done with the children.

Approachable – children feel able to approach you and talk to you.

Reliable – the children you support, their families and the team know they can depend on you.

Enthusiastic – your willingness to engage and support children remains positive even at difficult times.

 

Experience of working with children is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.

 

£20,000 per annum (actual salary) Term Time only (39 weeks)

1.00pm – 11.30pm Mon-Thurs and working every 3rd Friday 10.30am to 4.30pm

West Heath School is an Independent SEN residential school with charity status. We provide a therapeutically informed learning environment for children aged 10-19 who have suffered some form of trauma and are unable to access main stream education. We believe in “rebuilding lives through education”, developing life skills and encouraging students to enjoy social activities.

 

Working at West Heath School involves close and unsupervised contact with vulnerable groups including children and as such is a regulated activity. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Applicants must be willing to undergo safeguarding screening appropriate to the post.
