About the role:  Tree Tops Primary Academy, a rapidly improving and successful school based in Maidstone, has an opportunity for a Nursery Teacher to join our academy from September 2019.  Initially joining us on a one-year maternity cover contract, we can offer our successful teacher the opportunity to embed within our incredibly positive and enthusiastic ethos at Tree Tops; all staff are supported and enjoy working within our friendly and collaborative environment.  We are able to offer the opportunity to work with amazing, well behaved and motivated children. We are proud to achieve small class sizes which we appreciate is a key advantage for teachers and children alike!

Rest assured that we will endeavour to offer a substantive teaching position within the Trust family of schools once the fixed term maternity contract comes to an end.

Working with us:  Tree Tops Primary Academy, located on the outskirts of Maidstone, is set in magnificent grounds with ample space for both outdoor learning and play. Our thriving nursery is located on site and offers an excellent start for our children’s education. We have separate and spacious facilities for Early Years, KS1 and KS2, as well as rooms for small group and specialist teaching.

We offer our children a range of additional experiences and support, including regular trips and visitors, sports coaching, after-school clubs, counselling and play therapy. The academy has been recognised as having ‘good’ leadership and management, and the whole staff team are striving for constant improvement together.

What are we looking for in you?  To be successful you need to be a qualified teacher who is passionate and knowledgeable about primary teaching and possesses the ability to teach consistently at an excellent level. Whether you are at the start of your career or an expert teacher we focus on what attributes you will bring to the Academy and most importantly what impact you will have on our children. As a Trust, we feel it is important to be positive, fun and a real team player.

Being part of Leigh Academies Trust:  As of 1st January 2019, our Trust is comprised of 23 geographically organised academies (11 secondaries, 11 primaries and 1 special) educating over 15,000 students, and employing over 2,500 talented staff.

Diversity at our core:  As a Trust, we are passionate about diversity and recognise that as individuals we all bring something unique to the role regardless of age, gender, race, beliefs or disabilities which is why we treat all of our people equally, without compromise. The academy is committed to safeguarding children and successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.  Our commitment to safeguarding is underpinned by robust processes and checks which are in place across the Trust.

Our academy is a happy, caring and vibrant community which offers a stimulating learning environment. By developing potential, drive and self-esteem we help everyone to become a unique, responsible, respectful, motivated and successful individual. The academy caters for boys and girls from the age of three to eleven years. It is well equipped, having its own nursery, library, two halls, kitchens and extensive outdoor areas.

Tree Tops Primary Academy values the diversity and talents of all our pupils, parents and staff. We focus on preparing our children for the next step in their education, ensuring they are fully engaged in all aspects of their learning, including decision making, being good communicators and becoming independent, knowledgeable learners. Learning experiences, which our pupils will remember for their whole education career, are created by our hard working and dedicated staff, where pupils of all ages are given the opportunity to work with experts and with children in other year groups and in cluster schools. It’s our pupils who are our best advert and they would warmly welcome the chance to proudly show you our school.

We aim to give every child the very best start to their education through lively and engaging teaching using an exciting, broad and balanced curriculum. We want our children to enjoy a wide range of experiences which bring the curriculum to life and make learning active, meaningful and relevant. All staff work hard to ensure the best possible quality of education for the children in every class.

We were delighted that in June 2019 Tree Tops was judged as Good with Outstanding Leadership and management and Outstanding for pupils' personal development and welfare.

Mission: All pupils are given every opportunity to develop to their full potential, intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, morally, socially and physically.

Every pupil is given equal opportunities, regardless of gender, nationality, race, ethnic origin, religious belief or disability; to share and to achieve is to succeed and make a positive contribution to their community and society.

We provide a broad and balanced curriculum, which includes the Foundation Stage, the National Curriculum and Religious Education; all the curriculum will be relevant and skilful teaching will respond to the needs of each pupil in the school.

Parents are kept fully informed of their child’s progress and are given opportunities and sufficient time to discuss issues regarding their child. We endeavour to work in partnership with parents at all times. We consider their opinion and value their help and support.

"Our Academy is a happy, caring and vibrant community which offers a stimulating and safe learning environment. By developing potential, drive and self-esteem we help everyone to become a unique, responsible, respectful, happy, motivated and successful individual. In June 2019 we were judged by Ofsted to be a GOOD school with Outstanding for Leadership and management and also for pupils’ personal development and welfare. We are so proud and happy!" - Principal Denise White.
