Warning - This Vacancy is now Closed!
The Stour Academy Trust are looking to recruit two enthusiastic and resilient class teachers to work in EYFS and KS1 starting in September 2019.
Due to the collaborative nature of the Trust, these vacancies could be at any one of the following schools:
Adisham CE Primary School, Sturry CE Primary School and Hersden Village Primary School.
At interview we will be able to discuss with you about the potential opportunities available at each school.
Find some more information about each school below:
Adisham CE Primary School
Adisham was rated as Outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in September 2017, with inspectors praising the school’s “clear and ambitious leadership” and “polite and respectful” pupils.
An Outstanding half-form entry school, Adisham is oversubscribed in early years for 2019 and remains a popular primary school in the Canterbury area. With small year group sizes, Adisham benefits from the Trust’s high-quality training and opportunities for staff whilst maintaining its ‘community and family’ atmosphere.
Hersden Village Primary School
Hersden was rated as Good by Ofsted in March 2018 and with plans for a new housing development opposite the school, the school’s infrastructure is set to change for the better with the addition of four new classrooms and a new library, opening in September 2020. This is the perfect opportunity to join a team that is soon to begin a new chapter in the history of the school.
Sturry CE Primary School
Having been the sponsor school of The Stour Academy Trust since its formation in 2012, Sturry CE Primary School remains at the forefront of providing outstanding teaching and learning. An Outstanding two-form entry school, Sturry is oversubscribed in early years for 2019 and remains a popular primary school in the Canterbury area.
Under the ‘strong and inspirational leadership’ of The Stour Academy Trust, this is the perfect opportunity to join an outstanding team of likeminded staff who want to provide the best education possible for its pupils.

Supporting NQTs -
The first year of teaching is a considerable significance in the professional development of a new teacher. Our induction process ensures that the appropriate guidance, support, training, expectations and observations are provided through a structured but flexible individualised programme.
"Staff feel well supported and appreciate the range of training and professional development opportunities available within the trust. Newly qualified teachers and those new to the school are particularly well supported." Ofsted 2018 Finberry Primary School
Opportunities for career progression -
Looking for more responsibility or greater professional development? The Stour Academy Trust can offer experienced teachers the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities with rapid career progression in our successful and growing Trust.
Supported by a network of teachers, the Trusts collaborative model of working in Hubs allows Teachers access to resources, experience and opportunities that are just not available to those working in stand alone schools.
Our staffing structure places teachers on a clear career pathway, presenting numerous opportunities for further leadership or curriculum responsibilities.
Individualised support from Lead Practioners -
The Stour Academy Trust utilises Lead Practioners to support its teachers to be outstanding.
As experienced coaches and mentors, Lead Practioners support individual teachers by planning lessons together, modelling teaching, sharing best practise in developmental marking, demonstrating the effective use of TA’s, observing teaching and providing constructive feedback in a positive environment.
Teachers working with our Lead Practioners have shown significant improvements in their teaching, leaving them feeling more confident and secure in their ability to deliver a positive impact on pupil learning.
