Advert

Temporary Part time maternity Cover 0.4FTE - Likely duration 12 Months starting June 2019

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic member of staff to join our highly successful Creativity Department.  Applications from candidates who can teach Food Technology and textiles would be advantageous, but not essential.

The successful candidate will be motivated and committed to working as part of a team, have strong, up-to-date subject knowledge and be committed to ensuring students in their care make exceptional progress.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone to join a team which is forward-thinking and focused on doing the very best for each and every student.

In return the school can offer excellent, up to date resources and high quality CPD opportunities.

Please note that should sufficient application be received this advert may close earlier than advertised.  If you are interested in this role please do apply as soon as possible.

Information about the school

STS is an 11 to 18, mixed, secondary school that has an excellent reputation across Kent. In the words of Ofsted (July 2015) “Students’ behaviour in classrooms and around the school is a strength of the school” and “Good teaching is characterised by teachers’ encouraging relationships with their students and clear expectations”. In Ofsted’s most recent visit, they recognised STS to be good in all categories.

The success of our students from Year 7 through to the Sixth Form is due to the ‘can do, will do’ attitude that is the hallmark of staff and students alike. At STS we ‘Hold fast that which is good’: a broad and engaging curriculum; interesting, inspiring and innovative classroom practice; as well as a whole host of enriching extra-curricular activity. Throughout their time at STS the students are provided with quality advice, support and guidance to help them progress and grow academically, personally and vocationally. We recognise and celebrate diversity and understand that a ‘one size fits all’ approach is inappropriate for the unique individuals we serve.
