Full Time - Term Time Only - Permanent

Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 4.30pm - 37.5 hours per week

£16,658 p.a. (£10.00 p.h.) for 39 weeks (including 5.5 weeks paid holiday) plus generous pension, retail discount benefits, free parking, social events and wellbeing sessions

Our class based Keyworkers support are responsible for, and work to promote, all aspects of personal development and individual progress for a group of key students within a pathway class.  You will enable students to learn, promote their independence and help them to achieve.  You will also be involved with physical management and personal care.

Have you got what it takes?

You will need to be a confident advocate, recognising the potential of your individual key students and championing their needs.  You will need to be able to keep comprehensive records along with a good level of numeracy and literacy.  GCSE (or equivalent) A*-C in English & Maths is required and experience of complex physical and medical needs is desirable along with a Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching & Learning in Schools (or support is given to achieve this.)

Information about the school

We are proud to share with you the excellent work we do with children and young people who have physical disabilities and complex medical needs. Our school is unique within the maintained sector in the whole of southern England. We cater for students aged 4 to 19 and have both day and boarding places. We have a large site with high quality teaching, social care and health care facilities. A staff team of over 250 people provides specialist teaching, social care, therapies and nursing care to an exceptionally high standard.

Our overall aim is to enable every child and young person to achieve meaningful independence. Students flourish in a supportive but challenging environment, making good educational progress and achieving a range of accreditation as they get older. There is excellent support to enable students to achieve functional communication, mobility and skills for daily living.
