At New Line Learning Academy, we are looking to appoint an outstanding Food and Cookery Technician who shows a real passion for the subject of cookery.  We pride ourselves on providing excellent learning opportunities and facilities for all our students.  The Food & Cookery Department comprises of a state of the art, fully equipped and well-resourced Catering Suite.    

 

The Food & Cookery Department offers at Key Stage 3 on rotation, a cycle of 12 weeks per academic year, resulting in students opting for a two-year Vocational Course at Key Stage 4 in Year 10.   The Food & Cookery Department has consistently achieved excellent GCSE results over many years exceeding the national average.

 

At New Line Learning Academy, we are very proud of our learners and actively encourage our creative, aspiring chefs to enter and participate in regional and national cookery competitions for which students at the Academy have been awarded many accolades. 

 

Line managed by the Lead Practitioner for Food & Cookery, you will be working with students individually and in small groups, you will be leading on some activities, which is an integral part of the role as is supporting extra curricula tasks. You will therefore need to be confident in your knowledge and skills.  Additionally, being able to cook wholesome nutritious food with confidence and flair from scratch is essential.
