We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work across our school and predominantly in The Acorn Centre. The Acorn Centre is a specially resourced provision which is part of both The Oaks Infant School and Minterne Junior School. The Acorn Centre has three classes with 12-15 pupils, each with an Education and Health Care Plan for Speech, Language and Communication Needs, each whom are supported by a strong team of highly skilled adults.

The Oaks Infant School is a three form entry school on the edge of Sittingbourne and we pride ourselves in having an effective, supportive and collaborative staff team. Teaching Assistants at The Oaks need to be positive team players, providing support to both teachers and children.

The post is part time, 14 3/4 hours per week, term time only, working from 1pm-3.15pm Mon-Thurs and 8.30am to 3.15pm on Fri. The successful candidate is likely to have some experience of working with pupils with special needs and has a qualification in the use of Makaton, or is keen and willing to undertake this training.

Potential in Everyone Academy Trust is a Church based Multi Academy Trust which is made up of two small Church of England Primary Schools (Bredgar and Borden), a three form entry Infant School (The Oaks) and a three form entry Junior school (Minterne). We also proudly provide a specialist resource provision for children with speech and language difficulties on the Oaks and Minterne site. The Trust's registered office is Bredgar CE Primary School.
