Job Grade: Kent Range 6 (19,864 - £21,789)

Hours: 37 hours per week 8.00 am - 4.30 pm  (with an hour for lunch)

We are seeking someone who can be responsible for the security, health & safety, maintenance and improvement of the school building site and vehicles.

Personal Qualities and Experience:

  • Practical and professional with a positive 'can-do' attitude.
  • Extensive background in the building trade (minimum 2 years) to include experience in Carpentry, Plumbing and Electrics.
  • Use of a wide range of equipment/machinery e.g. kitchen, garden and general maintenance.
  • Understanding of health & safety requirements including (COSHH) and the ability to recognise and take action to avoid potential risks under Health & Safety Legislation.
  • Level 2/3 diploma (or equivalent) proficient technical skills, practical skills and a driving licence.
  • Computer Literate: Microsoft Office and the ability to use other job related IT applications.
  • Excellent literacy and numerical skills in order to complete recording of technical data for the school and Local Authority.

Information about the school

All 80 students on roll have an EHC plan with SEMH or ASD as their main SEN need. Most have additional associated diagnosed and undiagnosed needs. All have a broadly average cognitive profile with behaviour presenting as the biggest barrier to accessing education.

It is essential that have a good understanding of Special Educational Needs associated with student who present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs and or Autism and experience of working successfully with other agencies to help these children achieve positive outcomes. A high proportion of our children are eligible for pupil premium.
