Advert

At Sussex Road Primary School, our Mission Statement is CHALLENGE, QUESTION, EXPLORE.  This is the bedrock of our curriculum and ensures our children are exposed to learning experiences that build resilience and make memories.

Our Forest School was introduced in 2014 and has become an integral part of our community.  Children from Yr R to 6 enhance their learning through being in the Forest and learning outdoors.  We recognise the considerable benefit outdoor learning has on a child's well-being and want to extend our provision to enable children to access Forest School sessions far more frequently.

We are looking to appoint an outdoor enthusiast who genuinely believes that there is no such thing as bad weather!  Someone who understands the importance in building resilience in children and the part that outdoor learning plays in that.  Someone who sees a muddy pair of trousers as an indicator of adventures, rather than another thing in the washing pile.

Ideally, the candidate would have Level 3 Forest School training but we are open-minded to providing training to the right person.  We also hope to appoint an additional member of staff to work under the guidance of the Forest School Leader, providing support in sessions.

Working hours would be between 8:30 and 4:00 Monday to Friday during Term Time.  Applicants must undertand that some preparation work may need to take place outside of these hours.

In the first instance this would be a fixed-term contract for one year which would be reviewed at the end of the 2019-20 financial year.
