Catering-Specialist Learning Support Assistant

 

West Heath School is an Independent SEN residential school with charity status. We provide a therapeutically informed learning environment for children aged 10-19 who have suffered some form of trauma and are unable to access main stream education.   We believe in “rebuilding lives through education”, developing life skills and encouraging students to enjoy social activities.

 

£16,500 per annum (actual salary)

8.30am-3.30pm Monday-Friday (Term Time only- 39 weeks)

West Heath School are looking to appoint a dynamic and committed Specialist Learning Support Assistant to work within the Catering Department. An ability to contribute towards creating a positive, dynamic and inspiring environment for our students to learn and develop is essential. The role comprises of supporting the Catering Teacher in the classroom with behaviour & classroom management, preparing food items, using a large variety of kitchen equipment and supporting the delivery of group and 1.1 lessons. The role also involves covering lessons to a high standard and creating a welcoming, vibrant environment in which our students can discover and learn. The Catering Department is very popular with our students, with an ever changing dynamic and structure. The ability to think strategically and fast is key to the role.
