We are seeking to appoint a creative, energetic and inspirational teacher of Music to deliver lessons across the age and ability range in our Pre-Prep. From the age of two our children share a love of music through games, singing, dancing and playing musical instruments. When listening to music we foster their imaginations and develop their creative and communication skills. This is a wonderful opportunity for a fun-loving individual to promote and enhance the subject profile and to foster in children a lifelong love of Music.

You will be passionate about developing whole school singing and will play a leading role in rehearsing and directing termly concerts and productions. As an accomplished pianist you will accompany choirs, assemblies and pupil performances as required. Working closely with the Head of Music in the Prep school, you will liaise with our dedicated team of peripatetic teachers in the co-ordination and delivery of weekly instrumental lessons; monitoring children’s progress and offering appropriate support and advice. You will be expected to work closely with the class teachers and dovetail music lessons to their curriculum plans. The ability to teach IT or Languages would be an advantage.

As part of the St Michael’s staff you will have responsibility for the safeguarding and welfare of the pupils in your care

You will be highly organised and confident in dealing with parents. You will have bags of initiative and will be a reliable, positive, team player. In short you will want to make us all sing!

Please send a covering letter together with a completed Teacher application form (downloadable from our website) to Mrs Aisher at recruitment@stmichaels.kent.sch.uk.
