Seal CE Primary School is seeking an Administration Assistant.

Salary: Kent Range 3: £15,628 - £17,188 pro rata (depending on experience).

Hours: Initially 13 hours per week (term time), Tuesday & Friday 8.45am-3.45pm

(There is the possibility the role will increase to 19 hours per week in the near future).

We are looking for someone who has experience working on a database and is competent in using Microsoft Office - in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint. 

You will be good working as part of a team.

You will be a skilled multi-tasker, extremely well organised and able to work in an environment where meeting deadlines is essential. 

You will have good interpersonal/communication skills and be able to deal with teachers, parents, pupils and professionals alike. 

You will have the ability to deal with issues sensitively and confidentially. 

You will need to have enthusiasm for learning new skills and will need to be flexible and adaptable and have a good sense of humour.  You must like children!

Previous experience of working in a school office and using SIMS would be an advantage.

General Duties

  • Assist in the efficient running of the school office
  • Provide an effective administration and secretarial service to the Headteacher and staff
  • Maintain reception, answer the telephone and deal with enquiries as appropriate
  • Provide a professional and friendly first point of contact for pupils, parents and visitors
  • Tend to pupils sent to the office during teaching hours and administer first aid as required (training will be provided if necessary)
  • Update and maintain the SIMs database
