TEACHER OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION

We are looking for a highly motivated teacher of Physical Education to join a team committed to raising standards and expectations. We will consider NQTs along with experienced teachers.

 

This is a unique opportunity to be involved in and help shape our Academy, at an exciting stage in its development. The post reflects the continued expansion of the Academy and offers significant scope for professional and career development as the Academy continues to grow in size.

They should be a hardworking, creative, energetic, and excellent classroom practitioner. They will have the capacity to help us establish a vibrant learning environment, and a culture of enthusiasm for learning. Their professionalism and dedication will enable our students to achieve more than they believe possible.

 

Physical Education is part of the Expressive Arts Faculty which includes; PE, Drama, Music and Art. We currently offer core PE for KS3 and 4, Year 7-11 with the option of GCSE PE at Year 9 and BTEC Level 3 Sport at Sixth Form. The PE facilities include: a large Sports Hall; Dance Studio; Fitness Suite; two Multi-Use Games Areas and an All-Weather pitch for football and hockey as well as a Rugby pitch. Students participate in a range of sports including Football; Netball; Basketball, Badminton; Table Tennis; Athletics; Cricket; Handball; Fitness; Dance; Gymnastics; Cheerleading and Trampolining. We also offer an extensive enrichment programme with teams and clubs competing in local tournaments and leagues.

The Position

Working within the Faculty, the post of Teacher of Physical Education is permanent and full-time. We have a strong commitment to professional development and provide appropriate training to ensure all teachers at the Academy are good and outstanding classroom practitioners as well as enabling them to grow as leaders for the future. We are seeking an outstanding specialist in Physical Education who is keen to support the further development of the Physical Education department.

Information about the trust

The Trust comprises of Skinners’ Kent Academy and Skinners’ Kent Primary School.

The Academy opened on September 1st 2009. It is an independent, non fee-paying, mixed, all ability school, funded by the DfE and supported fully by its lead sponsor The Skinners’ School, a grammar school for boys and the Skinners’ Company. The Skinners’ Kent Academy Trust is founded on the principles of a culture of high standards and high aspirations, a culture of active participation, an emotionally rich learning environment and an inclusive environment where every child is known and every learner supported.

The main aim of the Academy Trust is to provide the highest quality of education for students, from Reception to Year 11 and the Sixth Form. The Academy Trust aims to raise and reflect aspirations within the local community and provide education, social and economic benefits for all.
