Are you seeking a part time and flexible role? Are you friendly, reliable and willing to work outside in all weathers to ensure the safety of children? On behalf of Kent County Council, Dartford Science and Technology College is looking for a Road Crossing Patrol with a genuine interest in the safety of children and adults on their journeys to and from school. Our Road Crossing Patrol will be punctual, trustworthy, honest and dedicated.

The role of the Road Crossing Patrol is to ensure the safety of children and others waiting to cross the road and a designated point between the prescribed times, without detriment to the health and safety of all other road users.

Applicants should ideally have knowledge of road use & traffic awareness, understanding of the highway environment and related features e.g. signs, lines and other aspects of the Highway Code. The Road Crossing Patrol will be self-motivated and be able to provide written reports if incidents occur.

Above all you need to like children, to want the very best for them & be prepared to put their needs first. Children will be at the heart of your work.

The Road Crossing Patrol will work 5 hours per week for 38 weeks per year (term time only). The working times are mornings from 8:25 am to 8.55 am and afternoons from 3:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

The successful applicant will be paid within Kent Scheme Grade KR2, which is £15,627 for a full time appointment, and will be pro rata for part-time hours to an actual salary of £1741.48.
